Author of novels, plays and film scripts, imprisoned following his commitment against the war with Iraq, he is banned from publication in Iran since 1994 and is exiled in London. He was awarded the Prix Médicis in 2020 for his novel, "Les garçons de l'amour", in which he breaks the taboo of homosexuality in Iran.
